Web Icons changed in address bar after Windows update
Since a windows security update all web icons in the address bar show icons from various sites I've visited. For example, I visit USAToday, but the web icon in the address bar that should be associated with USAToday isn’t, but ESPN‘s web icon
is. This is strange because everything else in the address bar is right, including the website name. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern to which web icon shows up, but they’re never for the particular website I visit. Also the web icons in
history are switched as well, the same way as in the address bar. Any one else have this problem? If so is there a solution?

Hi,
Windows update
should not change the web icons on IE. Please clear IE cookies, temporary files, and follow this article to add the web icons again:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms537656(v=vs.85).aspx
If it doesn’t work, you can try to perform a system restore for test.
Hope that helps.

Leo
